Naughty Elvis

Life has gone almost back to normal. Normal meaning, no heartbreaking casualties due to the calici , no heartwrenching catastrophies healthwise (except a stupid flu but hey, that’s just annoying..lol). Paul and I even went to the movies on his day off on Monday (a yearly thing..yes we don’t get out much..lol).

The Super eight as I call the 8 remaining bunnies now are doing fine. All including Spot are eating like little piggies and back to their normal selves. The only thing that has dramatically changed is the social behaviour of Elvis and Topping (daughter and surrogate mum). They seem to always be trying for the Top Bunny position for Bunny Queen that is and just do not get along anymore. No blood but there have been some serious battles in which Elvis and Topping are to be seen jumping up against each other or over each other to show their superiority. Elvis is really the only one who has suffered a bit : normally the bunnies groom one another. Now offcourse with the cold war going on, Elvis misses out on a face wash. One of her eyes has started to water a bit after trashing around and there is now a wee bald spot close to her eye because she just cannot stop rubbing it. Now that Topping refuses to clean her rivals face, guess whose job it is now? Yes, you got it, me.

So, this week has pretty much gone back to normal. The cages are all cleaned. The empty caged taken apart totally and standing outside waiting to be sanitised, the whole bunny bunker is sooooo empty….compared to the hustle and bustle that was going on before the disaster struck.

I have had a lot of support from so many people and so many care packs sent my way: it warms my heart and I am so so grateful to know you..yes you know who I mean.! I have offcourse also picked up some disturbing gossip on my radar. Basically the same as what happened after my cancer diagnosis 18 months ago. Although I am absolutely open about everything that is happening, some people obviously are thinking these disasters on its own are not enough and want to add some fuel to it, like:
1. oh she is dead (no Im not! I type, I spin, I knit , therefore I am)
2. she is selling up (selling up what? My brain? Naaah)
3. she is getting a divorce (if Paul wanted to leave he’d done it 18 months ago, besides his life would be too dull without me..lol)
4. she is having a nervous breakdown (yeah right, listen, if I didn’t have one after the last bout of disasters, chances are I am immune to it…heartbreak ad sadness does not mean nervous breakdown, it means you have a heart and are not afraid to use it.)
5. she has no animals left so she has no fibre anymore! (as if we don’t plan and process ahead…lol)
6. she wont be going to Bendigo (yes I am going, and with even more fire and fluff than last year AND fighting for bunny rights..)
7. oh she wont be goin to Mapleton camp (yes I am! I am doing two workshops there, selling lots of fluff, yarn and batts !!! enabling heaps of fibre fans AND having a great relaxing time, stuffing myself with the great food you are served about 20times a day there..lol)
8. etc etc etc

So you see, I am still pretty much still here, fired up and preparing so much for the Bendigo show and Mapleton that the studio AND the living room are slowly but surely filling up to the brim ! Don’t ask me how I am going to get it all in the 1 car. I may have to apply for a Tardis..yeah! wouldn’t that be cool!
